"A
celebration of the positive powers of jazz guitar performance ... it doesn't get any better than 'Reunion of Souls' ... upbeat, solid and swinging" — Robert Sliverstein 20th Century Guitar, November 2001 "No recent major label jazz release that I can think of has the feel of being in-the-moment the way this disc has ... lively and swinging." — Joseph Taylor www.soundstage.com "A remarkable offering -- the quartet shows a fine musical maturity and teaches an impressive lesson in real creativity. Posessor of a real group sound, a rare quality! Music as elegant as it is inspired." — Jean Jacques Taib - Jazz Hot Magazine |
If
you like jazz guitar, this CD will be your cup of brew, for it is without doubt one of the nicest guitar works to come out this year. Chris Bergson's "From the Window" is a lovely work as is Sheryl Bailey's "Until the End of Never" and each selection in the collection brings something unique and different to the listener. Other songs include the mesmerizing Sunny Jain song, "Scintillating Blue," "Segment," Ashley Turner's intricate "Reunion of Souls," and the clean, sweet rendition of Rogers & Hart's "There's A Small Hotel." This group has it together in every way, and it is reflected in the CD collection, REUNION OF SOULS. Excellent solo work! www.Jazzreview.com Reviewed by: Lee Prosser |
